Pirates ended the season in 3rd place in 1990 & was in no where near relegation zone. Iron Duke has been with Bucs since late 70s & served in more influential position in 1991 when the team was experiencing financial constraits (which every team does) & the agrrement then btwn him and Bucs leaders was for him to provide financial boost and take on more influential position. His passion in football didnt start when he served in more influential position in 1991 (&its not Kaizer that convinced him to take that role) as he has been with Bucs since late 70s , albeit, as secretary and has been football administrator since he was a teen.
